Building Campaign UPDATE:
as of February 12, 2019
Dear Friends,
I have exciting news to share! During worship on Sunday, the people of Point Washington UMC had the opportunity to step forward in faith and offer their estimate of giving cards. I am excited to share that after only one Sunday, we have already received over $900,000 in pledges! When combined with our Building Fund, we celebrate reaching over $1.25 million in cash and pledges! Look what God is doing in our midst! A special thank you to everyone that offered a card for our Growing Together with God campaign.
I invite anyone who has not offered an estimate of giving card to either mail it in, bring it to worship this Sunday or submit your estimate of giving through this confidential link: http://bit.ly/CAMPAIGNPLEDGE. Our goal is to raise $1.75 million in cash and pledges which will enable us to complete our renovations and new building with no long term debt. We can do this! We are already so close after only one Sunday!
With these facility improvements, every ministry of our church will be able to grow and offer more ways for others to know Christ. I am humbled by the faith in God our congregation has shown by offering these estimates of giving that will allow us to touch more lives with the love of Christ. Even now, our building committee is moving ahead with final drawings and the research necessary for engineers and others to make all of these dreams a reality. Indeed, the power of God at work in us is able to do far beyond all that we could ask for or imagine! (Ephesians 3:20).
A special thank you to our visioning committee, building study committee, building committee, capital campaign committee and everyone who helped with the campaign and prayed during the prayer vigil. I am amazed by what God has done in and through the Body of Christ here at Point Washington UMC, and I am looking forward to all that God will continue to do through us as we work together to fulfill our mission To Know Christ, To Love Christ, To Make the Love of Christ Known!
Grace and Peace,

New Ministry Center UPDATE:
as of APRIL 28, 2019
The congregation came together for a called Church Conference after services on Sunday, April 28th to receive a report and the status of our building project. After presentations and a time of questions, the membership present was asked to vote on whether or not to proceed with the project. A written ballot was passed out and the vote taken. The congregation overwhelmingly approved the continuation of this vital project.
New Ministry Center UPDATE:
as of August 11, 2019

After the 8:45am and the 11am worship services, our congregation will join together at the area behind the Stephen Center for a Blessing of the Land upon which we will be constructing the New Ministry Center. We will encircle the ground and ask for God's blessing to rest on the work, workers, and on our congregation, as we seek to be faithful to God's leading.

New Ministry Center UPDATE:
as of September 26, 2021

Our beautiful, new Ministry Center is complete and the Preschool began operations there Monday! Amazingly, this 6500+ sf building was built and furnished (the preschool already had their furniture) for less than $1.1 million. In these inflationary times, this is incredible and much credit goes to co-chair and General Contractor, Flip Spann. A grand opening is being planned soon.

Our focus has now shifted to our facility repairs and renovations. Working together, the Trustees and the Building Committee have already made electrical upgrades in the FLC, added gutters to the SC, and now we are in the process of replacing all the rotten siding and wood on both the SC and Sanctuary building, and then pressure washing and painting both. The emergency exit door in the Sanctuary will also be added this week and a new window in the workroom once it arrives.

Our next projects will include small updates to the bathrooms of the SC, renovating the church offices to create the music suite, and repairing, cleaning, painting etc. the FLC, where necessary. Special thanks to Cheryl Forde ( Facilities Supervisor) who is already making a difference in supervising and advising this work.

Special thanks also to our wonderful Trustees who have worked so collaboratively with us. Together, we are ensuring our beautiful campus will be a safe and welcoming place for ministry for generations to come.

Finally, special thanks to Terri Alexander (Business Manager) for all of her diligent work facilitating contracts, getting invoices processed, and assisting in every way which has made and continues to make all this possible.

Respectfully submitted,

New Ministry Center UPDATE:
as of November 14, 2021
Consecration of the Ministry Center

You are invited to join us this Sunday morning, November 14th for the consecration of the Ministry Center! At the end of each worship service, the congregation will process to the Ministry Center for a brief ceremony and Open House.
We hope you will bring back the rocks you received when we blessed the land before we began building in 2019 so they can be gathered together for display at the front of the Ministry Center. Thank you to so many people who have used these rocks as a reminder to pray for this project and for our church to follow God’s leading over these past 2 years.
Looking forward to a joyful time of worship and fellowship to mark this happy day!

Peace,
