Ministry Statement
PoWASH Music Academy prioritizes the teaching of music for the benefit of each student's whole person - their social/emotional wellbeing, their fine motor skill development, and their ability to utilize their brain in multiple capacities simultaneously. We believe that these goals are complementary to our practical goals of students learning to read music and use their instrument with excellent technique and artistry.
Music is a lifelong skill and we acknowledge the huge importance of music to our cognitive abilities. There is no age limit and we believe anyone can begin a new instrument at any point in their life.
PoWASH Music Academy is a ministry of Point Washington UMC and aligns itself with the mission "to know Christ, to love Christ, to make the love of Christ known".
We feel it is our honor to walk alongside students in their musical journey.
Private Studios
We currently offer piano, guitar, drums, electric and acoustic bass, trombone, baritone, tuba, song writing, and DJing instruction.
We are open to any instrument, so please inquire if there is interest. Tuition is prepaid on a monthly basis and is charged September-May. Students are welcome to enroll and begin lessons at any time, depending on studio availability.
Interested in teaching? We would love to talk, please reach out. We have studio space for you!
Students are eligible for lessons starting in kindergarten.
Young students and those with special needs will be offered a sample lesson at a reduced rate with the instructor to determine readiness for private study.
Tuition rates are based on the length of the lesson and the instructor.

Special Ensemble opportunities
This Spring, we partnered with PWUMC Music Ministry's Chris Klaus and created the Young Voices United special ensemble that met weekly for two months and performed for the Spring Recital as well as PWUMC church services on Mother's Day.
