Ministry Statement
PoWASH Music Academy prioritizes the teaching of music for the benefit of each student's whole person - their social/emotional wellbeing, their fine motor skill development, and their ability to utilize their brain in multiple capacities simultaneously. We believe that these goals are complementary to our practical goals of students learning to read music and use their instrument with excellent technique and artistry.
Music is a lifelong skill and we acknowledge the huge importance of music to our cognitive abilities. There is no age limit and we believe anyone can begin a new instrument at any point.
PoWASH Music Academy is a ministry of Point Washington UMC and aligns itself with the mission "to know Christ, to love Christ, to make the love of Christ known". For any that may need financial assistance, please reach out. We have a scholarship fund.
To donate to our scholarship fund, which will allow students an opportunity to learn and grow their love of music where they otherwise may not have that chance, please click here:

MEET OUR TEACHERS
Students are eligible for lessons starting in kindergarten.
Young students and those with special needs will be offered a sample lesson at a reduced rate with the instructor to determine readiness for private study.

Special Ensembles
Through partnership with PWUMC Music Ministry, we offer a vocal ensemble called Young Voices United. This group is for 6-12th grade students to help fill the gap since no chorus is offered through our public schools.
We meet 8-10 weeks in the fall and spring and prepare for special event performances.
Please reach out if you have a student who is interested!
